Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston KCB CBE

Sir Mike was the Chief of the Air Staff from 2019 to 2023, the professional head of the Royal Air Force. As Chief he was responsible for the leadership and operational effectiveness of more than 38,000 full-time, reservist, and civilian personnel, and an annual budget of £8 billion. He began his 37-year career as a fighter pilot, and in later appointments worked across the highest levels of U.K. government, industry, and international partners in Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Australia, and the U.S.

Since leaving military service, Sir Mike has advised private capital on aerospace, defense, and security investment. He is a Senior Advisor to Bridgepoint Group, working on investment strategy across private equity and credit with a focus on defense and adjacent technologies, where he supports deal origination, diligence, and portfolio strategy.

Sir Mike is a Non-Executive Director of NOTE AB, a Swedish electronic manufacturing and engineering services company. He is on the Boards of two Bridgepoint portfolio companies: MyDefence, headquartered in Denmark, specializing in counter-drone and force protection technologies; and Comrod, a Norwegian radio ancillaries company. He is also a Senior Advisor to Boston Consulting Group; a Strategic Advisor to Faculty AI, a U.K. AI software and consultancy firm; a Senior Advisor to Alloyed, a metal alloy additive manufacturing firm; and a Visiting Professor at King’s College London.
